Dr. Sharon White, PhD

I have known Dr. White professionally for over 20 years. Even though it had been 5 years since
we worked together, I remained in her network. When I faced a difficult career issue rooted in
discrimination, Dr White provided the guidance, support, and insight I needed to navigate
through it. Her wisdom, empathy, and practical strategies empowered me to not only overcome
the challenge but to emerge stronger and more confident in my leadership. After following her
direction and counsel I successfully navigated a career transition that resulted in a monetary and
professional promotion. I am deeply grateful for her expertise and highly recommend her to
anyone seeking to address complex workplace issues with grace and courage.

Hi, I’m Dr. Sharon White

As a product of the Civil Rights era, I am outspoken, self-aware, and intimately familiar with intentional and unintended racism. Even though I know there is a real need for courageous conversations, I also recognize the difficulty people have with them.   I am exceptional at assisting business leaders in creating the space for such conversations.  I am highly regarded as the definition of a ‘White Whisperer’ and my company ‘Courageous Conversations LLC attests to that. My background encompasses over twenty-five (25) years of related experience within Management, Finance, Diversity (DEI) and Education.

“I know Dr White to be a strong, caring mentor/coach able to train others with diverse backgrounds in leadership skills that has resulted in the organization’s vision and mission. Dr White approaches tasks/projects with a focus on compliance, content, and timelines for completion”.  - S. Soriao

Coaching / Consulting

Pro bono coaching clients include both groups and individuals.  Topics cover a multitude of subjects.  Personal paid coaching is geared toward career survival and professional growth.  Professional paid coaching and consulting centers around (1) management, (2) leadership and (3) diversity, equity, and inclusion/belonging (DEI/B) issues.  As a general rule, Courageous Conversations LLC welcomes all business and personal issues/concerns.

Diversity

While an employee of Rockwell International I was responsible for creating and implementing strategies to ensure a welcoming environment for people of all backgrounds.  My goal was to promote good relations and practices, and to create fair opportunities for all employees.

Education

At the request of the Boeing Diversity Organization, I developed and conducted lunchtime seminars on ‘Getting Ahead in Corporate America’.  These seminars were open to all employees although the target audiences were minority employees.  I also taught High School math to underserved students in a South-Central Los Angeles charter school.
